This activity is designed for physicians, podiatrists, pharmacists, physical therapists, and nurses who treat patients with chronic wounds.
After completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Explain the physiological process of enzymatic debridement including available evidence of increased cellular responses to injury which promote wound healing
- Define the role of enzymatic debridement in the inpatient, long-term care and acute care settings
- Explore the role of debridement in combination with other wound care modalities
- Review the cost benefit analysis of enzymatic debridement
